At a certain age career thoughts start to drift towards leaving a legacy and having an impact on the world. I’ve partnered with THNK School of Creative Leadership to use my product and venture design skills to help hundreds of entrepreneurs design their products, services, and businesses in hopes of having the greatest possible impact on the world. From ethical fashion, to serving the underbanked, to using games to improve mental health, I teach, mentor, and work with seasoned creative leaders to scales their impact.
As a co-founder of three creative companies I’m always looking for a better way to work in order to keep the creative mind refreshed and sharp. With my wife as co-founder we started Work Life Collective – a workspace collective for passionate people who love work and live. Yoga, digital detoxes, work retreats and lots of green smoothies fuel our work and life. Find us in Berlin, India, Sri Lanka, Panama and the Philippines.
We’re a brand, communications, and product design consultancy collective. Clients: eBay, Whole Foods, Microsoft, Bank of Montreal. DDB, Wunderman. If you’re a Fortune 500 brand, a start-up, or a non-profit who needs help with brand storytelling, compelling PR communications or product strategy, roadmapping and implementation, we can help move you forward.
After years of academia and consulting with businesses I took the leap and started what I believe will be the future of children’s book publishing. In a couple short years we’ve become the go to mobile publisher for Dreamworks, Warner Brothers, Peanuts, Nickleodeon and hundreds of independent authors.
I had the humbling honour of getting poached to help one of the most vanguard storytelling organizations in the world – The National Film Board of Canada. I worked as an Interactive Producer/Writer. Everything from script, to UX, to tech build-out.
Half-way through my Masters I was hired to help start a Social Media and Emerging Technologies division within DDB Canada, called Radar DDB. I ran creative and strategy for four years before we merged with Tribal DDB.
As the media landscape was changing I left film to go back to academia. I graduated with a Masters of Applied Arts in Visual Art. I also had the pleasure of teaching while I was there and still enjoy going back to teach the odd class in design, publishing or typography.
I kicked around LA, New York, Prague, Cuba, Paris and Florence making films and doing fashion photography.
I graduated with a Deans Honors Degree in Film and TV Production. I focussed on screenwriting and cinematography.
I was in a lot of crappy movies and TV shows. I’ve died on screen 14 times, I’ve crashed 20 cars, I’ve shot thousands of rounds of ammo, I’ve had 16 one-liner parts and once was the stunt double for Hugh Jackman. I also used acting to pay my way through three university degrees.
