Interesting Vancouver is an unconference that I will be helping to hype and maybe even speak at, if I can get my act together. The premise is to hold a super relaxed conference where speakers are invited to speak for 20 minutes or 3 minutes on any topic they’re interested in, passionate about or super knowledgeable about.
It’ll take place on October 24th at the Vancouver Rowing Club and only cost $25. This will be one of those events that will make you proud to live in the cultural mix of Vancouver.
It’s official. I’m adopting all things Twitter. Now that I have some regular contributors to follow I’m starting to see the value of Twitter.
I’ve added Twitter Berry for the BB and Twitter Feeds which automatically feeds my blog posts to my Twitter.
Now you can follow this blog, DailyJim (my photoblog), Corporate Hipster and I Am User Generated (my academic blog) on my Twitter. Activate the mobile notification option on Twitter and you’ll get these updates as text messages.
Is this cross-platforming getting creepy?
Yup as expected Girl Talk threw the best party of the summer. Forget Pemberton, ya’ll should have been at the Commodore to see the cut and paste king (sorry Diplo) mash-up a record number of tracks keeping the ADD cocaine fueled crowd bouncing the whole time.
Check out new album here.
Some video I shot of the madness. My fresh white steps are wrecked now from being trampled on stage. I regret nothing.
How can your brand not be cool if you associate yourself with N.E.R.D. and Santogold? Time to dust off the old steps and support the original Chuck Taylor movement.
I haven’t seen a movie in ages, so it was a real treat to see ET outdoors in my own backyard. Fresh Air Cinema treated us Yaletowners to a free screening of Speilberg’s classic film. I loved the unabashed product placement that typified this era of filmmaking, but the best part was lying in the grass on a warm night with False Creek flowing in the background. Yes it’s true, I like living in Vancouver again.
