Yup as expected Girl Talk threw the best party of the summer. Forget Pemberton, ya’ll should have been at the Commodore to see the cut and paste king (sorry Diplo) mash-up a record number of tracks keeping the ADD cocaine fueled crowd bouncing the whole time.
Check out new album here.
Some video I shot of the madness. My fresh white steps are wrecked now from being trampled on stage. I regret nothing.
Don’t know this girl, but I respect the fact that she rocks a Holga. I’m a little ashamed that I shot this with my tiny digital.

How can your brand not be cool if you associate yourself with N.E.R.D. and Santogold? Time to dust off the old steps and support the original Chuck Taylor movement.
I have no idea how this technique was achieved. It really flows well with the mind bending nature of the song. Well played yet again.

I haven’t seen a movie in ages, so it was a real treat to see ET outdoors in my own backyard. Fresh Air Cinema treated us Yaletowners to a free screening of Speilberg’s classic film. I loved the unabashed product placement that typified this era of filmmaking, but the best part was lying in the grass on a warm night with False Creek flowing in the background. Yes it’s true, I like living in Vancouver again.

I’m completely blown away by the way this man’s mind works. This connection between art, nature and science is truly amazing. Thanks Jess for the tip.
This is follow-up post to my Pants post the other day. That video was for Levi’s and the same director shot this for RayBans. It’s been out for a year but has blown up in the past little while. Maybe as consumers we really just do want funny random stuff instead of ads. See if you can detect the branding in this spot.
I’ve been collecting old cameras perhaps as a reaction to my increased penetration into the digital and virtual world. I was truly touched but the photographic story of the life of Jaime Livingston who took a polaroid picture everyday for close to 18 years. The analogue aesthetic is a real treat. This video explains a little about the film and the camera.
Some of my analogue shots can be seen on my photo blog DailyJim.com
After seeing a great presentation on the social browser Flock, I’m finally making the switch. This is the first blog post I’m making using Flock’s integrated blog editor.
So far it’s been pretty easy to set up, but like anything I’m sure the true value will come when I start adding more and more individualized add-ons and extensions.
More to follow.
Whenever I get down on myself I remember the old adage that; everyone puts on their pants one leg at a time. Everyone, except these guys:
